Beauty is back with a bang

Beauty Expo & ABIA’s did not disappoint – once again Australia’s hottest celebration of the year for the Beauty Industry was back with a bang. Expo, featuring over 200 brands across 32 product categories, an Aesthetic & Beauty Industry Council Networking Lounge, Natural Beauty Spotlight, Makeup Awards, Australian Beauty & Aesthetics Conference featuring 47 Industry Speakers discussing a range of topics from “The Clean Beauty Movement” to “Staying Relevant in Today’s Changing Beauty Market”, ending the weekend on a high with the most glamorous Australian Beauty Industry Awards Night hosted by Mocha Beauty Australia.

Sustainable Salons team members attended Beauty Expo Day 1 – capturing content, meeting with our amazing industry partners such as Timely, Kitomba and Phorest and catching up with our members. We spent the day with some world-class industry leaders in Natural Beauty and cannot wait to share some amazing information with you!

Dedicated to making sustainability reality, Sustainable Salons was thrilled to be a part of the Australian Beauty & Aesthetics Conference at Beauty Expo 2022. Pip Curnow – Customer Success Lead at Sustainable Salons stood in for co-founder Paul Frasca as a panellist on “The Clean Beauty Movement & The Conscious Consumer” discussing all things natural, eco and sustainable beauty.

As a company that is deeply connected with our members, the community and local businesses, we pride ourselves on taking sustainability practices beyond just the program. Our mission is to provide members and the general public with the right tools and key knowledge to succeed, not only in their salons, but in the community. The growth of their sustainability mindset ensures a brighter future for generations to come.

As a community it is important to understand that every action we take, in our daily lives and in our businesses has an impact on the environment we live in. You may have noticed in the last few years that the conscious consumer has been on the rise, not only in daily life, but also in the salon space. It is now more important than ever for your clients to come to get their services, relax, have a beautiful treatment, and know they are choosing a service that aligns with their core values. Everyday more and more customers are beginning to choose businesses and services that align with their values, ultimately voting for their future with their dollar.

It was the key beauty industry networking event for 2022.

Here is what Pip Curnow had to say about Beauty Expo and ABIA weekend.

It was great to be back at the ICC Sydney, The Beauty Expo was well organised, with all the amenities needed for the scale of the event.

The expo floor was bustling, hosting a variety of businesses from lash serum, micro needling, vitamin infusions, the latest clean beauty products, beauty powerhouse brands and software support companies, it was the key beauty industry networking event for 2022.

Meeting my fellow panellists for The Clean Beauty Movement panel was great, so encouraging to hear of the great work these home grown businesses are doing to encourage the use of organic and natural ingredients in their products, all leading with integrity. If we can source beauty from nature and not harm animals or the planet whilst doing so then sign me up!

Day 2 of the Beauty Expo concluded with The ABIA’s, it was a celebration of business excellence. It was so humbling to witness the way each winner was so gracious when receiving their award, thanking their teams, support companies and families for the joint success.

It has been a tough few years for our industry and this felt like a true celebration of the amazing work we do connecting with people and making them feel good. There is nothing quite like the healing power of touch, this industry touches the lives of so many. It was amazing to be together, looking ahead to a brighter more sustainable future for the feel good industry.

Jam packed with new tech, clean beauty products and smiling faces from businesses that are paving the way in beauty industry sustainability, it is safe to say that Beauty Expo and ABIA’s 2022 was a major hit! Sustainable Salons is excited to see where the future of clean beauty and sustainability is headed and welcome those who wish to join this amazing venture into making sustainability a reality for the feel good industry.
